A few years ago, my friend Sarah sent me Ada Limón’s beautiful poem “The Raincoat.” I, in turn, sent it on to my mom, to a handful of friends—though I could have sent it to almost everyone I know.
On Wednesday, I am teaching a one-time class at the Westport Writers Workshop called “Writing About Motherhood.” It’s a fundraiser for the Workshop’s amazing outreach programs and we’ll read fiction, poetry, and nonfiction, do some writing ourselves, and students will have a chance to share their work with one another.
