The title of this newsletter comes from something one of my high school freshmen wrote in response to a question about oxymorons in Romeo and Juliet. The response very sweety went on to explain that it’s always hard to leave a fun party.
While this post is not about misheard lines of Shakespeare, it is about parties. In the weeks since Craft Camp, I have been thinking a lot about a passing comment that Marie-Helene Bertino made: it’s hard to write party scenes.
